Abortion Clinics Brace For ‘New Chapter Of Violence’
Topic: Abortion
Source: Huffington Post
As Extremist Group Plans HHS Protest. The national network of abortion providers sent a security alert to clinics in the Washington, D.C. area, warning of possible unrest and violence connected to an extremist group’s plans to protest outside the Health and Human Services building on Thursday. Rescue Resurrection said on its website that the protest will call on the Trump administration “to take decisive action to restrict and ultimately ban the abortion pill.” Mifepristone, one of two drugs used in medication abortion, has been at the center of Republican attacks since access to abortion pills by mail increased the number of abortions in the U.S. since the fall of Roe v. Wade.

Tennessee launches nation’s first domestic violence offender registry
Topic: Children and Family
Source: Tennessee House
[Ed: mixed feelings about this. For one thing, I hope they take women perps as seriously as male ones.] A new law set to go into effect on Jan. 1 will create the nation’s first registry to track repeat domestic violence offenders. Signed by Gov. Bill Lee in May, Savanna’s Law is named for Robertson County Deputy Savanna Puckett, 22, who was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, James Jackson Conn on Jan. 23, 2022. Puckett’s body was found inside her burning home in Springfield after she failed to show up for work. Conn, who had a history of domestic violence and stalking, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and is serving a life sentence.

Blue State Raids 'Emergency' Funds to Pay Off Student Loans
Topic: Children and Family
Source: The Western Journal
Could Fuel 'Unsustainable' Borrowing. One blue state legislature is rolling out a statewide student loan program that will tap the state’s “emergency” fund to replace a federal program slashed under the “Big Beautiful Bill.” Connecticut lawmakers are calling for the use of state emergency funds to replace the federal GradPLUS program, which offered graduate students up to the cost of their degree minus the $20,500 per year already available through unsubsidized loans.

Trump Calls Out Supreme Court Justices After Trans Athlete Hearing
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: FOX News
‘Should Lose a Lot of Credibility' President Donald Trump spoke out about the U.S. Supreme Court cases over trans athletes in women's sports, calling out the justice who he believed appeared to be "fighting" to keep "men playing in women's sports." Trump told reporters at a White House press conference Tuesday that he believes the justices who appeared to be on the side of the trans athlete plaintiffs should "lose a lot of credibility." "Big Supreme Court case. I mean, I can't believe it. Some of the justices were fighting hard for men to be able to play in women's sports. A couple of them, I can't imagine it. But I think anybody that rules that way should lose a lot of credibility.

Mom, Tattoo Artist Charged Over 14-Year-Old's Ink
Topic: Violence Against Women
Source: WMAZ
Father called police after mother brought teen home with a sleeve tattoo. A Georgia father didn't just object to his 14-year-old's new sleeve tattoo—he called the cops. Authorities say a woman and unlicensed tattoo artist Walter Nesbitt were arrested after the teen showed up with an arm-length tattoo that state law flatly prohibits for minors. According to a probable cause affidavit cited by WMAZ, the boy's mother took him out on Dec. 28; he returned with the sleeve, which his father, identified by the Monroe County Reporter as Chris Johnson, considered "very inappropriate" and reported to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office. Johnson has full custody of the teen.

Trump admin investigates Minnesota over 'racialized housing plans'
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The Post Millennial
“Minnesota is ground zero for fraud and corruption because they have chosen to ignore the law to serve a cynical political agenda." The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has notified the City of Minneapolis that its Office for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) has opened an investigation into the city’s housing policies, citing concerns that elements of Minneapolis’ long-range housing plans and equity initiatives may violate federal civil rights law. In a letter to the city, HUD said it is reviewing what it described as “comprehensive racialized housing plans” to determine whether they conflict with the Fair Housing Act and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibit discrimination in housing and in programs receiving federal financial assistance.

How Mississippi Moved from Bottom to Top in Student Reading Achievement Scores
Topic: Children and Family
Source: Good News Network
The state’s 4th graders “exceeded the national reading average” for the first time in 2024, according to the International Business Times, while its 8th graders are ranked in the top 10 for reading and math, and the total educational attainment averaged across all grades ranks 16th in the country, the highest rank Mississippi has ever achieved. Proving that method can trump money, the southern state has achieved all this despite being one of the very poorest in the country with some of the lowest per-student education budgets.

Paxton issues legal opinion to declare DEI ‘frameworks’ in Texas unconstitutional
Topic: Individualist Feminism
Source: The Washington Examiner
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton issued a sweeping legal opinion on Monday declaring diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and their supporting legal frameworks unconstitutional in the public and private sectors across the Lone Star State. The 74-page legal opinion essentially prohibits schools and state governments from engaging in DEI practices. It also warns that private companies could face liability under federal and state law if Texas finds they kept their DEI programs or policies in place.

How #MeToo Destroyed the Author of ‘13 Reasons Why’
Topic: Men's Movement
Source: International Business Times
Jay Asher's life was blown up by anonymous comments on a blog post. Now, he is telling his side of the story. Eight years after anonymous #MeToo-era allegations derailed his career, Thirteen Reasons Why author Jay Asher remains largely outside the publishing mainstream, but he has not disappeared. Asher, whose 2007 novel became a global phenomenon after Netflix adapted it in 2017, saw his professional life collapse in early 2018 amid accusations circulated anonymously within the children's publishing community. However, Asher has consistently denied any sexual misconduct, stating that no formal complaints, investigations, or findings were ever made against him.

Wokeness Has Brought Britain’s Second City Bankruptcy and Crime
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Hot Air
If you want to understand what has gone wrong with Britain, there is probably no better place to start than Birmingham. As of this month, Birmingham’s refuse collectors have been on strike for a whole year, with no obvious end in sight. At the worst point, 23,000 metric tons of rubbish were left uncollected, with queues of residents reaching up to a mile long at mobile collection points. Rats the size of kittens roamed on the streets. Birmingham, England’s second city, had quite literally become a dump.

Mamdani chief equity officer disparaged liberal white women
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The New York Post
...in now-deleted X posts: ‘Tax them to the white meat’. The city’s new equity officer, Afua Atta-Mensah liberally sprinkled the phrase “comrade” throughout her posts and retweeting statements such as, “there’s NO moderate way to black liberation.” Mamdani — in appointing Atta-Mensah to the top city position designed to promote inclusion — said, “There is no one I trust more to advance racial equity across our work in City Hall.” Atta-Mensah’s disturbing posts were unearthed by the New York Young Republicans Club from her personal X account, which she apparently deactivated within a week of her Thursday appointment.

How the Darlington nurses were betrayed by their union
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
Trade unions have prioritised trans ideology over protecting the rights of female members. Congratulations to the Darlington nurses! Last week, these eight women scored an important legal victory against the NHS Trust that had allowed the female changing rooms at the hospital where they worked to be used by a man who identified as a woman. The employment panel ruled that County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust had ‘unlawfully harassed’ the nurses. Being made to share what should have been a single-sex space with a ‘biological male trans woman’ violated their dignity, the tribunal found. It also said the nurses’ concerns had not been taken seriously.

The Public School Shell Game Makes Phantom Daycares Look Tiny
Topic: Children and Family
Source: The Daily Economy
Adults siphon off taxpayer money earmarked for kids, and no one is held accountable. Teachers’ unions share the same dysfunctional incentives as headline-grabbing fraudsters in Minnesota. But as outrageous as this daycare scam is, it’s small potatoes compared to the massive, ongoing fraud perpetrated by teachers’ unions every single year, in every state, right under our noses. These unions advocate to pour billions of taxpayer dollars into public schools, only to funnel a huge chunk back out — and into Democratic politics. It’s a closed-loop racket that’s been running for decades. While there are key differences — the daycare fraud often involves phantom centers with no children at all and a shocking lack of state oversight, whereas public schools do have students they consistently fail to educate — the underlying incentive structure is frustratingly similar. In both cases, taxpayer dollars are poured into failing or fraudulent public initiatives, with little accountability, perpetuated by political alliances that prioritize funding over results.

Fraud Is ‘Fundamental’ Part of Child Transgender Medical Field
Topic: Children and Family
Source: The Epoch Times (Reader Friendly)
There is no solid evidence that puberty blockers, hormones, and surgery benefit children with gender dysphoria. One of the architects of the Health and Human Services (HHS) review of medical interventions for pediatric gender dysphoria said in a recent interview that fraud is an integral part of the transgender medical field. Nearly a year after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to protect “children from chemical and surgical mutilation,” Leor Sapir, who assembled a team of experts to produce the HHS review, emphasized that doctors relying on unproven gender-affirming guidelines are misleading patients. ?Sapir, an HHS report author and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, told The Epoch Times there is no solid evidence that puberty blockers, hormones, or surgery benefit children who reject their sexual identity, but that evidence exists that these procedures can cause harm.

Universal Childcare Could Hurt New York’s Kids
Topic: Children and Family
Source: The City-Journal
Exposure to government-run daycare is associated with behavioral problems later in life. Earlier this month, Governor Kathy Hochul and Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced an ambitious, multiyear plan to make childcare free for all children under five in New York City. The multibillion-dollar proposal would phase in a universal “2-Care” program for Gotham’s two-year-olds, further fund the city’s existing 3-K program, and provide “additional support to ensure truly universal Pre-K for all four-year-olds in the State.” Governor Hochul claimed that the plan would make New York State and City “the best places in the nation to . . . raise a family.” But evidence suggests that universal childcare is often unsustainable and leads to worse outcomes for children.

Democrats can’t escape the ‘what is a woman’ question
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: The Washington Examiner
“What is a woman?” is not supposed to be a trick question. But a truly bizarre unwillingness to answer simple variations of this question has turned it into a potent ideological weakness that isn’t going away for the Democratic Party. Just last week, multiple examples of high-level progressives and Democrats dodging it have gone viral.

How the Council of Europe could foist trans ideology on us all
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
A Labour MP is seeking a Europe-wide resolution to revive the discredited practice of ‘gender-affirming care’. Trans ideology is a persistent pest. Strike it down in one place with the sanity hammer and it simply pops up somewhere else, undented by evidence and immune to embarrassment. This game of whack-a-mole is playing out in Europe. After the public’s turn against this damaging ideology in the UK, Labour MP Kate Osborne is now attempting to export dangerous and discredited ideas about gender identity across the continent.

The Adelaide Writers’ Festival: killed by hypocrisy and intolerance
Topic: Political Correctness
Source: Spiked Online
Jacinda Ardern and the global cognoscenti only care about ‘free speech’ when defending rabid haters of Israel. ‘Sally Rooney is a young author with a young audience and she’s asking people to think about this issue, and that’s a good thing.’ That was the response of Australian publisher Louise Adler in 2021, when asked about Rooney’s refusal to have what was then her latest novel, Beautiful World Where Are You, translated into Hebrew. Five years on and Adler appears to have taken a different position on literary boycotts. This week, Adler quit as director of the internationally renowned Adelaide Writers’ Festival on free-speech grounds, following its decision to rescind the invitation of Australian-Palestinian academic Randa Abdel-Fattah. The board has since been dissolved and the festival sensationally cancelled.
